I’m now entering the third trimester and starting to think about what baby number three & I will need this time at the hospital! I did a full blog post on what you (really need) to pack in your hospital bag, you can read that here. I’m taking a lot of similar things but wanted to get a few new items for the baby, a matching dress for big sister and a delivery robe for this time around! Keep scrolling for a few things I’m packing in my hospital bag this time!
Labor & Delivery Robe
I usually wear the hospital gowns they provide while in labor since I know it’s going to get so messy during delivery. I enjoy having a clean comfortable robe for right after baby gets here. This gorgeous robe is so luxe and soft and I fell in love with this pretty print, but it also comes in so many other print options. I’ll definitely be living in this robe after delivery and so excited it has a matching layette for baby. Robes are great to wear in hospital, postpartum around the house, and are easy to wear while breastfeeding or to throw on when a visitor comes.
Nursing dress
After delivery, you are going to live in loose fitting & comfortable clothes or pajamas. I lived in these pull down nursing pajamas in the hospital & postpartum with my last baby. I found them when I was ordering my last delivery robe (photo of both below). They also have so many prints and colors to choose from. I’d recommend getting a couple of nursing dresses to sleep or lounge in. They are great to wear while pregnant too. In fact, I’m wearing one right now as I write this. Also, great quality & wash really well!
Baby’s First Outfit
There are several matching options here and the prints to choose from are endless! We went with the zipper pjs & swaddle. We even got big sister a twirl dress to match. Audrey is SO excited to match with her new little sister when she arrives. She couldn’t wait to put it on, so she just put it on over her pajamas & poked out her little belly for a “bump pic,” haha! She cracks me up!
Comfy slippers
I wish I had these during my last two labor and deliveries! A good pair of house shoes keeps your feet clean and insulated. They also offer a layer of protection for your feet. I wear these comfortable house shoes almost everyday. I’ll be packing them as well as my shower shoes in my bag this time!!
Also, if you are wanting a cute bag to pack in or a new diaper bag, I found some great options on Amazon! I linked them for you here.
I also wrote a post on things you’ll need after birth here. In an ideal world, it’s great to have a hospital bag packed a few weeks before your due date so when labor hits, you are ready to grab it and go. Tap here if you want to see a more comprehensive list of what to bring to the hospital when in labor.
I will be posting a list of maternity fashion favorites and pregnancy essentials soon too, so be sure to subscribe here so you don’t miss the post!
Veteran mamas, what would you add to the list?! You can help some new mamas out in the comments below.
