29 Week “Bumpdate”
Well, today’s the day! I am officially 29 weeks pregnant! These past few weeks have been a lot of fun but also a bit more relaxing. Tyler and I had Spring Break off together so we laid low, had some family date days and got some things done around the house. We typically travel a lot during breaks, so it was nice to stay in town and get some “nesting” done. I am amazed that I am already finished with the second trimester. This pregnancy is flying by compared to my first. I am now in my last trimester of this pregnancy which means we only have 11 more weeks (give or take) until we meet this precious little guy.
Baby update:
John William is about 15.2-16.7 inches long and weighs anywhere from 2.5-3.8 lbs and is growing rapidly everyday! He will double, even triple in weight as he packs on that precious little baby fat. His living space is getting a little crammed and it makes it easy to feel any kicks or jabs he makes! At our last prenatal appointment John William measured right on track.
Growing bump tip:
With such rapid growth, this all-natural skin toning oil and moisturizing body wash has been a LIFE saver for me. It’s especially hydrating and I feel like my skin drinks it right up! It has helped to tone and hydrate my skin as my belly grows. Itchy belly- be gone! So far I haven’t gotten any stretch marks (which is partially genetics) but I definitely think this has helped because I lather up with this toning oil and body wash duo almost everyday.
Favorite moment of the week:
Audrey Grace hugging and kissing my baby bump and saying that “He’s STUCK!” and wanting him to come out! She is understanding that there is a baby in my belly and it has been fun to see her play with my friends little ones. She loves babies! A few other highlights was a trip to Silver Dollar City with the Strongs, celebrating Shepherd Pitman’s second birthday and starting to shop online for nursery decor! Feeling some “nesting” symptoms coming along!
Movement:
I feel him move several times throughout the day and especially when I am trying to sleep! When I lay on my left side, he gets super active.
Cravings?
Chai lattes or something sweet at night. Then again, that’s kind of typical.
Sickness?
No sickness, just some mid-back pain if I am standing or sitting too long.
Mood/energy:
I am feeling well, but my energy level has dropped a bit. (See below for the reason!)
Sleep:
I’m not getting as much sleep as I am used to with night wakings (having to use the bathroom), puppies whining (Darling had her first litter), and a sweet little toddler. We recently changed Audrey Grace’s nursery into a toddler room complete with a big girl bed! She is currently waking a lot earlier than normal. We just got her an “okay to wake” clock that shines green for when she can get out of bed, so I’m hoping that will buy me at least 30 more minutes! Girl gotta sleep! I’ll report back on how that goes soon! But how cute is this little stinker? Her pretty smile makes up for the loss of sleep.
Exercise:
Still going strong and teaching Pound and Piyo (3 classes a week). A fellow Pound Pro instructor came to my class during her weekend vacation and I really enjoyed getting to meet another Pound instructor and talk about our experiences teaching this awesome class!
Diet/Weight:
Eating normal and not exactly sure how much I have gained. I haven’t stepped on a scale except at the doctors office! Doctor said I will probably gain around 8-10lbs in the next 11 weeks as he should nearly double/triple his weight before he makes his debut!
Looking forward to:
Getting to see my brother and sister-in-law and their sweet little girl!!! I finally get to meet my new niece Scarlett and hopefully get some precious baby snuggles.
I’m also looking forward to the baby shower my friends are throwing me in early May! So thankful for my sweet and thoughtful friends as they help me prepare and celebrate our new little addition. I am working on a “registry” essentials post and will have that up very soon to help other moms pick out “must haves” when preparing for a baby.
Fun tid-bit for other pregnant mamas… I just received a free welcome kit sent to me from Amazon JUST for creating a registry and adding items to each category!! You can get one too by clicking here: Shop Amazon – Create an Amazon Baby Registry! The welcome box was filled with a full size swaddle blanket, sample diapers/wipes/body wash from numerous companies, which is perfect to help you decide on what brand(s) you want to use and keep on your registry. You also get 10% off anything still left on your registry! I love getting *fun* things in the mail!
Thankful for:
This stage of life! Really enjoying pregnancy and the excitement continues to build as we wait till his arrival! We have set up his crib, have a rocker/recliner ready and I’m definitely scouring pinterest for some boy nursery ideas. Can’t wait to decorate his room.
We can’t wait to meet you John William!
My dress is from a local boutique called Wild Orange and was a sweet gift from one of my students on dance team! You should definitely check it out if you live in the area.
You can shop my look here and I’ve also linked some fun similar dresses, all below $60!
Xoxo, Dorothy
