Amped Up Everyday Makeup Routine

Hey beauties! Just posted a short “get ready with me” video on my IGTV sharing my everyday makeup routine + how to amp it up for a date night look. Be sure to check it out if you missed it. Whether you are getting ready for a girls night, date night or like to have a little extra glam throughout the day- this is for you! I have my tried and true products that I include in my every day makeup routine, but have recently found some NEW favorites that have scored a place in my makeup bag. Here’s what I’ve been loving lately & in the order I use it most of the time!

Prep Your Face

Sometimes I will use this self-tanning CC moisturizer during the winter to give me a good warm base color to build upon. I love that this face tanner is good for my skin and wont break me out. It also doesn’t smell like traditional tanners and has a nice coconut scent. I rub it in circular motions all over my face and neck for a nice tan glow. Eye Balm

Make sure you have a good skin care routine (click to see what I use for my full skin care routine) and here for just my face wash and moisturizer basics. Calm, moistuized skin will help your makeup glide on so smoothly and stay on throughout the day. I use this eye balm to de-puff & brighten, and moisturize my under eyes. It has a slight cooling effect and sheen to it & lays perfectly under my concealer. *Use “DOROTHYPRO” for 15% off anything at Tula.

Concealer

This is definitely one of my tried and true favorites. I use this concealer to cover dark under eye circles whether due to lack of sleep or genetics… let’s just say I am doomed either way! (Thanks, Mom)! This usually does the trick to brighten my under eyes and cover blemishes. I’m in the shade “light.”

CC Cream + Foundation

This foundation combination lasted all the way through labor with my second. It’s that good. Seriously, nurses were asking me how my makeup stayed on all day, and I give all the credit to this double duo. For everyday makeup I use 1-2 pumps of this cc cream in shade “light.” If I am wanting to amp it up a bit and have more coverage, I combine it with 1 pump of this Lorac POREfection foundation in PR2 “light” in winter and PR3 “light beige” in summer. This combination is fool proof & gives a night “glow from within” look. Especially with my new fave bronzer!

Contour Palette

I use this contour palette to give definition and define my cheekbones, forehead and nose.

New Favorites

Best New Bronzer

This is definitely my new favorite product I’ve gotten lately. This bronzer is the best one I’ve ever tried. It applies so nicely, smells so yummy, and looks so natural. I love that it gives me a nice warm glow without looking orangey, shiny or sparkly. It’s highly pigmented so a little goes along way, which will make it last a while. This is one of my favorite finds in a long time. Definitely a great buy & worth every penny.

Best New Eyebrow Product

This new brow pomade/pencil by NYX is a hybrid between a traditonal eyebrow pencil and a brow pomade. It glides on so easily and helps fill in, define and fluff your brows. Yet the pomade helps them stay in place. I LOVE it!

Best New Palette

This holiday collection I got for Christmas has become a staple in my makeup routine. It comes with 2 blushes, two highlighters, a full eyeshadow palette, mascara and brush! Literally the best deal I’ve seen for this price, the quality and how gorgeous these colors are! This is their holiday palette and is selling out quickly, so snag it up while you can!

Winged Eyeliner

I have loved this eyeliner for years. It helps me draw a subtle cat eye to draw the eyes up and out. I draw a thin line right at the lash line. It’s also waterproof and smudge proof so it last all day!

Mascara

I use this primer for my lashes which works great with any mascara to help build more length and volume.

I’ve been using the “Lights, Camera, Action” mascara that came with the palette I mentioned above– which I am loving!

Lips

I tend to switch it up often, but these are some of my most-loved favorites:

Rose Lipstick- in “Exotic Orchid,” a perfect rosy shade for spring!

Nude Lip- double ended lip duo with lip gloss and lip stick. One of the top 5 makeup best sellers of 2019.

Buxom Plumping gloss in shade “Hotty Toddy,” (tawny nude) “Dolly” (true mauve) and “White Russian.”

Butter gloss- love this NYX butter gloss over lipstick or on its own. I love the shades “tiramisu,” “angel food cake,” and “creme brûlée.”
