We are getting closer!
The countdown begins until we will be a family of four. Well, five if you count our fur baby Darling! 😉 I am currently 27 weeks pregnant with our second child, John William. That means one week until I’m in my last trimester of pregnancy and have less than three months left. My due date is in June. I don’t know how that is even possible. Find out the why we chose the name John William and it’s meaning here.
In preparing for this new baby, we have been trying to prepare Audrey Grace as much as possible. She just turned two and is slowing coming to understand that “mommy is having a baby” as she sees my belly grow. She loves to be around babies, watch shows with babies in them, loves to lift up my shirt and say “baby,” and sometimes will sing Jesus Loves Me to my belly. Talk about melting a moms heart! We practice holding and feeding her baby dolls and taking them on strolls around the neighborhood. We also just transferred her out of her baby crib into a twin bed. I was going to wait as long as possible for this, but our little adventurer started climbing out- go figure! So we got a day bed for her and put her crib in the guest room that will soon become a nursery for John William. So far, it has had its difficulties (early wakings, protesting nap/bed times) but I think she will get the hang of it and adjust soon enough. I’ll update you on her transition soon and how we transformed her room into a toddler room soon here on the blog!
I am glad that she is pretty much potty trained (a few accidents every now and then) as that was a huge goal of ours before new baby got here. She was very interested and took the lead in this process with some hands on help from me and Tyler. We followed elements of the three day potty training method. It’s taking longer than that- but I do think the principles have worked! She is already striving to be more independent and “helpful” around the house. We have enjoyed her so much and can’t wait for her to have a sibling to play with and enjoy! I think she is excited, too!!
We can’t wait to see Audrey Grace as a big sister and give her a little play partner! As they get older, we hope and pray they will be very close, be a great support system for each other and love each other so much!
Also, how gorgeous is this beautiful lavender blouse from my favorite online shop for trendy maternity clothes. Pink Blush?!  💜 The color, crochet detail and bell sleeves steal the show. You can shop my top here. Â
Any one else’s second pregnancy fly by compared to the first? It’s CRAZY how fast this pregnancy has felt. We literally have less than three months and we will be a family of four.  I’m sure my nesting instincts will kick in any day now as we prepare for a new baby. I’m excited to venture into boy world and all that it brings! Then it will only be a matter of time before he gets here! Any tips/encouragement as we venture into life with two kids? I’d love to hear from you guys! Drop a comment below!
