DIY Hat Wall Display- How To Organize Your Hats

DIY Hat Wall Display

I’ve always had a love for decorating and making a space feel welcoming and like home. When we first moved into this house, I was so excited to decorate and make our house feel like home. It seemed as though I focused on every other room except our master bedroom. Well, since we’ve lived here for over three years now, I guess its time to put some finishing touches on our own room. I started with styling my vanity (you can read that post here) and now I wanted to share with you this DIY hat wall display & a creative way to organize your hats!

A Creative Solution for Storing Hats

Now, it’s probably no surprise to you that I love wearing hats! My favorite go-to hat is this one I found from Amazon. I think a hat can elevate your look with little to no effort and because of this, my collection has slowly grown!

I needed a way to organize & store my hats but also had a big empty space on my wall I needed to fill. After scouring Pinterest for inspiration and ideas I came across this DIY hat wall display by Gypsy Tan Home. I immediately felt inspired to make my own. I mean, how gorgeous is this space?

How to Make Your Own Hat Wall Display

Ya’ll, I’m happy to tell you this was a Pinterest success and not a #pinterestfail. It was SO EASY to make and didn’t take much time at all! It’s not only a great way to store your hats but it’s a boho chic decor piece for your wall. I put it right next to my clothing rack and I think it compliments it well.

What You’ll Need:

A copper pipe (I got 1/2″ and had the gentlemen at Home Depot cut it to 3 ft.), clothesline, clothespins, scissors, a nail/hammer and of course your hats to display!

First, you take the rope and thread it through the pipe, pull both sides up evenly (making a triangle shape) at the desired length and tie a knot. Make the knot small enough so you can rotate the rope until the knot is hidden inside the pipe. Next cut 3 strips of rope for each string of hats you would like. It’s always better to stay on the safe side & cut them too long and then go back and trim if needed. I burned the edges of the rope so that it melted the edges and wouldn’t unravel. Then tied each string to the copper pipe with one in the middle and the other two on each end. I put 2-3 hats on each strand.

And voila! That’s literally it! You have a super awesome hat wall display that will serve as great organization as well as cute decoration! I was so amazed at how easy this project was and how cute it looks on what was a once a blank & boring wall. It’s so fun to see a blank and boring space be transformed into something truly unique, functional and stylish. I am excited our master bedroom is slowly coming together!
