Mother Daughter Photos & Prayers for Our Baby Girl

And just like that our baby girl is three years old. It really is crazy how fast time flies by. That’s something you always hear people say, but definitely don’t comprehend until you experience it for yourself. My baby girl is growing by the day and our days are filled with lots of joy, silliness, learning and typical toddler challenges. I love being her mama and growing in our relationship together daily. She is adventurous, curious, caring, playful and just the best big sister. She loves to make us laugh with her goofy personality and always keeps us on our toes. Today I want to share with you our mother daughter photos and our number one prayers for our baby girl.

Mother daughter photo session

Melody with Melody Gilliand Photos did a great job capturing Audrey Grace’s true essence and the playful relationship we have together. I am always amazed at the talent & skill of Melody to capture these moments on film… and I will truly cherish these photos forever. This mommy and me photo session was truly magical and even the swans came close to join the fun.

I can’t believe my baby girl turned three years old. I want to remember this age. It’s such a fun but also challenging stage. I want to remember her love for “neigh-neighs,” ring pops & tutus. The playful moments like jumping to daddy off the couch with no fear, making mermaids or snowmen out of play dough, or wanting to be chased like a dinosaur. It’s so fun to see her starting to make her own little friends and get so imaginative and making her toys “talk” to each other. I love when she is “playing” the piano and commanding me to “dance, mommy, dance!” Listening to her excitedly explain an experience in her own “words” makes my heart smile.

These are the moments I want to remember when my patience gets tested or I feel like I’m just waiting for nap time to roll around. When she gets out of bed for the hundredth time or passes it boundary we have set, yet again, I am learning to pause, pray and press into God for His strength, grace and patience.

We are learning how to discipline and doing our very best. One of my friends said recently “I know It’s hard right now to see your life past diapers and car seats. But one days you’ll look up and these moments will have flown by. if you live constantly waiting for the current stage to pass, you’ll just end up frustrated. Don’t miss it.”

I want to have eyes to see all the positive things she is doing and encourage those things. I want to cherish the snuggles on the couch, the “sit, play wi me mommy,” the way she says “dadddyyy” when he’s giving tickles, and the way she hides and jumps out and says “surprise” when either of us get home. I hope to lock these memories in my brain & cherish the days no matter how hard or easy it is. I want press into the Lord and let him lead us in our parenting, and grow in grace & love as God teaches us lessons through our kids. I don’t want to miss it! Let’s not miss it!

As we raise our sweet baby girl, our main prayer for her is that she will embrace the grace and love of God and come into a personal relationship with Him. That she will love Him with her heart, soul, mind and strength and love others as she loves herself. We pray that we will raise her in the knowledge and strength of the Lord and pray that she will grow up into a strong & kind young woman with a love for God and others. It is an honor to be her mama!
